2 The Lord be with us as we walk
Along our homeward road; In silent thought, or friendly talk, Our hearts be still with God.
3 The Lord be with us till the night
Shall close the day of rest; |
Be He of every heart the Light, Of every home the Guest.
4 The Lord be with us still, we pray, His nightly watch to keep; Crown with His peace His own blest day, And guard His people's sleep.

2 Let not the foe of Christ and man
This holy seed remove, But give it root in praying souls To bring forth fruits of love.
3 Let not the world's deceitful cares
The rising plant destroy, |
But may it, in converted minds, Produce the fruits of joy.
4 Let not Thy word, so kindly sent To raise us to Thy throne, Return to Thee, and sadly tell That we reject Thy Son.
